In business automation

An n8n workflow uses nodes and connections to build a sequence of steps. Breaking parts into sub-workflows can help when the same check or action is used by multiple workflows.

Examples

These examples illustrate a possible workflow. Adapt the connections and rules to your own systems.

Business workflow example

A workflow receives an inquiry, runs a sub-workflow to normalize the phone number, and saves the result in the CRM. The same normalization is used by an import workflow, so fixing the rule does not require editing two places.

What to check

  • Document the input and output of each part. A change to a sub-workflow can affect other workflows that use it.
