OpenAI and ServiceNow expand their partnership: a ServiceNow MCP plugin for ChatGPT is live now, with Codex, voice and security work planned for 2027

OpenAI and ServiceNow are expanding the partnership they announced in January. The part available today is the ServiceNow MCP plugin in the OpenAI marketplace, with enhanced capabilities expected by the end of 2026. Through the integration, an IT team member will be able to find similar incidents, assess the risk of a change and update a ServiceNow record without leaving ChatGPT. Customers connect ChatGPT to their own ServiceNow instance and choose which capabilities to make available, and ServiceNow's Action Fabric applies existing business rules and permissions. ServiceNow is also previewing interactive experiences inside ChatGPT, such as an on-call engineer reviewing linked alerts, recent changes and affected services, then assigning the right team. Planned next: a Codex integration in AI Workflow Factory for building apps on the platform (2027), OpenAI models powering Build Agent and Autonomous Engineer, a joint security solution for investigating vulnerabilities and prioritizing risk (early access January 2027, general availability in Q2 2027), and a voice experience for describing AI use cases in Q1 2027. ServiceNow plans to give all employees ChatGPT Work and Codex, and OpenAI uses ServiceNow workflows in its own operations. The post does not give pricing.
