Try new models and services, skip the account setup
On September 17, 2026, the n8n blog introduces Gateway credits in n8n Cloud from version 2.36. On the Starter and Pro plans you can choose Gateway credits instead of a provider credential, and run models and AI tools from a shared balance without creating an account or API key. Six model providers are available (including Anthropic, Google Gemini and OpenAI, as well as Alibaba Cloud, Kimi.ai and MiniMax) and five tool services (Brave Search, Browserbase, Firecrawl, LlamaParse and PDF.co). It is also available through the n8n Assistant. Pricing follows the provider's price list on a public page, usage is tracked from the Cloud Admin Panel, and instance owners can turn the option off. Self-hosted is not included in this release. New and trial accounts receive a small balance, and existing Starter/Pro customers received a one-time allocation.
