In business automation

Reranking can help when the initial search returns similar but insufficiently focused passages. It cannot create a missing document or replace permission checks before a result is shown.

Examples

These examples illustrate a possible workflow. Adapt the connections and rules to your own systems.

Business process example

A search for subscription cancellation returns several similar procedures. The ranking step prioritizes the cancellation procedure over a plan-change guide, and only the relevant passages are passed on to draft an answer.

The Rerank service is designed to rerank documents in relation to a query.

What to check

  • Measure improvement against response time and cost. Ranking weak candidates will not fix a repository that does not contain the answer.
