In business automation
Deduplication starts with defining identity. An email address, customer ID, and event ID represent different things; two inquiries from the same person are not necessarily the same inquiry.
Examples
These examples illustrate a possible workflow. Adapt the connections and rules to your own systems.
Business process example
The same form arrives twice with an identical submission ID. One inquiry is retained, but a new inquiry from the same customer about a different subject is opened as a new activity on the existing record.

What to check
- Do not merge records based on name alone. Define what counts as a duplicate and what information to retain when records are not exactly identical.
