Salesforce says AI agents generated $88 million in revenue by reaching leads its staff could not handle

Itai Margalit, Area Vice President, Sales, at Salesforce Israel, said at the Israel Information Technology Conference 2026 in Tel Aviv, as reported by CTech, that the company had 100 million leads and that before it added AI agents about 75% of them went unanswered. Today the agent makes the first contact and hands the conversation to a person when a personal touch is needed. He said the initiative generated more than $88 million in revenue, and that handling a similar volume of first responses with staff would have required about 400 more employees. The company did not explain how the figure was calculated, over what period, or how much of it is directly attributable to the agents. Margalit advised starting with small use cases that have clear business value, adapting work processes instead of layering AI on top of existing ones, and building one reliable data infrastructure shared by people and agents. He said agents can be run directly from the work environment, for example from Slack.
