Rethinking skills and prompts for GPT-6 Astra

On September 11, 2026, on the OpenAI developer blog, Eric Provencher recommends rebuilding the guidance for coding agents such as Codex: skills as Markdown files with resources, an updated AGENTS.md file, and shorter prompts. With Astra, some of the old scaffolding is unnecessary, and boundaries and permissions need to be adjusted to the model's capacity for judgment.
