Act Security built Ezra, an agent orchestrator that turns Slack into the hub of its go-to-market work
A go-to-market engineer at Act Security describes in Geektime Ezra, an internal orchestrator the company built after off-the-shelf tools proved cumbersome. The first version, from April, was a simple automation: a call that ends in Gong is logged in Notion and the CRM, one agent classifies it into one of seven call types and a second agent writes a summary and posts it to the relevant Slack channel. Today a small service running on Kubernetes listens for mentions and direct messages to Ezra in Slack and collects the context: who sent it, in which channel, what was said in the thread and which files were attached. Behind it, several agents run on Anthropic Managed Agents, each with one job: classifying calls, writing summaries, opening tasks in HubSpot, building a daily prep deck and writing a tailored summary for each customer, while Ezra routes the work to the right agent. It is connected to Slack, HubSpot, Notion, Gmail, Linear and PostHog and receives calls from Gong, but company knowledge is packaged as Skills and writes to those systems are done by deterministic code: the model decides, the code writes. Every correction an employee posts in a thread is checked and becomes a permanent rule, and when a connection to a system breaks, Ezra follows rules on when to stop retrying, how to tell the person who asked that it cannot answer right now and how to alert the GTM engineer.
