A restaurant franchisee cuts monthly cash reconciliation time by 94% with ChatGPT Work
OpenAI profiles Ted Taylor, an independent franchisee who runs three co-branded Schlotzsky's and Cinnabon restaurants in New Mexico and uses ChatGPT Work for back-office work. For menu repricing, ChatGPT Work returns a spreadsheet of recommended in-store and delivery prices, and the job dropped from five days to one or two hours. For labor analysis it has read-only access to his sales and labor data, compares scheduled, budgeted and actual hours with forecast sales over the previous 12 weeks, and flags overtime, shifts running longer than planned and coverage gaps. At one location it now produces the full weekly schedule, which the manager checks and enters. Monthly cash reconciliation against bank records went from three hours to 5 to 10 minutes, and each payroll cycle saves four hours. Taylor also used it to build a portal where employees request supplies and repairs, with alerts to a dedicated email address and status tracking. He estimates better scheduling could free 50,000 to 100,000 dollars a year in cash flow, and he always reviews the results before acting on them.
