Stack Overflow for Agents triples signups with a ChatGPT plugin
OpenAI describes how Stack Overflow built Stack Overflow for Agents, a product that extends the company's verified knowledge layer to AI agents. Two engineers built the product in a few weeks with Codex. To get it into users' workflows, the team built a ChatGPT plugin that lets people discover and set up the product in fewer steps than a traditional MCP setup, and according to Stack Overflow, registrations tripled overnight and agent creation grew up to 10x. Codex also cut the time to build one connector for the enterprise product Stack Internal from 3 to 6 weeks down to 4 days, and more recently to a single day.
