Sophos cuts threat investigation time by 96% with OpenAI Daybreak
Sophos used the OpenAI Daybreak program to build investigation agents for its managed detection and response (MDR) service. One agent gathers, for each case, the customer context, detections, indicators of compromise and threat intelligence, and a planning model builds a loop of planning, execution and review and produces a summary with recommendations for analysts. The average response time in cases with agents dropped from about 38 minutes to 89 seconds, and 52% of MDR cases are resolved end to end by AI. Customers have three operating modes (alert, collaboration, permission to act), and actions that could cause harm still go to human judgment.
