A room full of agents is not a software factory

Yonatan Boguslavsky, co-founder and CTO at Port, writes in CTech that the problem in the SDLC is not the agents themselves but what happens between them: copying an error into a prompt, figuring out which repo a ticket belongs to, and a PR waiting with no clear owner. A software factory, in his words, is a system in which work moves through a repeatable agent-based process with context, evaluation and control inside the system, combining deterministic components (routing, gates, permissions) and non-deterministic ones. He recommends running agents in the cloud with shared context and rules, building a platform layer (what the agent sees, what it is allowed to do, when to turn to a person), approving skills before use, and starting with bottlenecks such as code review rather than swapping the model.
