How Oracle turns days of work into minutes with ChatGPT and Codex
OpenAI describes how Oracle uses ChatGPT Work and Codex in recruiting, engineering and operations: about 130 thousand active users in ChatGPT and more than 95 thousand in Codex. The recruiting team built a labor-market intelligence tool that takes a job description, checks similar roles and compares pay, and cut recruiters' preparation from two to four days to about 15 to 20 minutes. The Oracle Applications Lab team built an ontology of enterprise objects and rules, so that Codex turns a free-language question into a SQL query and chooses which internal systems to read. Reliability engineers use Codex to gather context on an incident and pull up the matching runbook, and a simple incident that took an hour is closed in minutes. At Oracle they stress that guardrails and code ownership are needed.
