More AI agents can mean more work for humans
On September 5, 2026, in CTech, Eric Gumnovsky (BAND) writes that as companies add autonomous AI tools in engineering, security and operations, employees have to pass context along, coordinate handoffs and keep disconnected systems working together. Advanced developers run several coding agents in parallel (planning, writing and review) but waste time copying information between them and become routers. With five or ten agents, the bottleneck shifts from doing the work to coordination, review and routing rules between probabilistic participants.
