Pick the right first process

Choose something frequent, rule-based and low risk if it fails, such as logging form entries or creating tasks. Avoid payments or customer messaging as a first project.

Build it

  • Write the process as numbered steps
  • Use a test copy of every app or a test record set
  • Name the automation and each step clearly
  • Store credentials in the platform connection settings, never in text fields

Test it

  • Normal case
  • Duplicate trigger
  • Missing field
  • Expired credential
  • Someone other than the builder can find and read the run history
