Zapier: hosted automations across a large app directory

What it is
Zapier connects web apps with automations called Zaps: a trigger in one app starts one or more actions in other apps. It is fully hosted and aimed at non-developers.
Where it fits
Zapier is often the quickest route when both apps already appear in its app directory and the workflow is mostly linear.
- Simple handoffs such as new form entry to CRM contact
- Notifications to chat tools
- Small teams without a technical owner
Limits to plan for
Check the specific trigger and action you need inside the app directory; an app being listed does not mean every operation you want is available.
Usage is metered by tasks, so multi-step Zaps on high volumes need a cost estimate.
Plans, usage limits and prices for Zapier change often. We do not quote them here; check the official pricing page before you commit, and model your expected monthly volume against it.
