Pick the right first process
Choose something frequent, rule-based and low risk if it fails, such as logging form entries or creating tasks. Avoid payments or customer messaging as a first project.
Build it
- Write the process as numbered steps
- Use a test copy of every app or a test record set
- Name the automation and each step clearly
- Store credentials in the platform connection settings, never in text fields
Test it
- Normal case
- Duplicate trigger
- Missing field
- Expired credential
- Someone other than the builder can find and read the run history
